THE SEMI-CUSTOM PROCESS
Please allow 5-6 weeks for me to design and print your wedding stationery
Step 01. Select your suite and customise
Browse the collections and select the suite that reflects your personal style. Please read through the information below to familiarise yourself with the various paper options available and then select the items you would like included in your suite. If you would like to include any extra embellishments such as silk ribbons, twine, vellum wraps or wax seals please add a note with your order and I can provide you with a price and include these options in your digital proof.
Step 02. Wording and colour pallets
Once I receive your order I will be in touch within 2 business days and email you a wording guide which will help you through the process of wording your invitation items. I will also include a form for you to fill in your invitation details and the colour pallet you would like incorporated into your wedding suite. You can also send me through any moodboards or reference images of colours you would like to match.
Step 03. Designing and proofing your suite
When I have all of your information I will create your customised digital proof which will include all of your personal details and colour pallet options. This process takes up to 5 business days and your proof will be emailed to you for your feedback. Once you have received your initial proof we will work closely together to refine your colour pallet and wording until you are 100% happy with your wedding suite design.
Step 04. Printing your suite and delivery day!
When your final digital proof is approved the next exciting phase and part that I adore is printing your suite. Seeing the designs, paper and inks you have selected come together is truly magical. This process takes 3-4 weeks. Please allow 2 extra weeks if you have chosen any extra embellishments. Once your suite is printed and everything is looking perfect it will be carefully packaged up and shipped to you anywhere in the world to then send out to your wonderful guests!
BEAUTIFUL PAPER OPTIONS
All wedding suites are letterpress printed on either 100% cotton, handmade paper or specialty coloured card as these create the most beautiful printed impression. Choose one of the papers below or mix and match a few together for a truly unique wedding suite. If you would like a specific colour for your paper goods please let me know and I will source it for you from one of my wonderful paper suppliers.
100% cotton paper
Cranes Lettra is made from 100% pure cotton linters which are a byproduct of the cotton industry and manufactured especially for letterpress printing. Available in 300gsm or luxurious 600gsm.
Handmade paper and envelopes
100% cotton and handmade by artisan paper makers in Austria. The perfect paper for letterpress and available in a wide range of colours. Handmade envelopes are also available upon request.
Coloured paper and envelopes
I have access to a large collection of paper suppliers and mills from around the world. If you have a specific colour in mind I will be happy to find it for you! Available in a range of paper weights and envelopes sizes.
LETTERPRESS PRINTING
From the digital design on the computer a printing plate is made. The plate is set up on the press, ink is rolled over the plate while a single sheet of paper is hand fed into the press and as the press closes it leaves a deep impression and ink on the paper. When the press opens again the paper is removed and the next sheet is fed in. Each colour has its own printing plate and this process is repeated until all of the colours make up the finished design. Truly a labour of love.
The perfect ink colour for you
All inks are mixed by hand in the studio and matched to your perfect shade from the Pantone formula guide. With literally thousands of colours to choose from you can create the perfect match to your wedding fabrics or even floral colours.
Letterpress impression
Letterpress involves printing your design one piece at a time on my 1920’s Chandler and Price printing press. This process creates the most beautiful tactile impression on the paper, down to the finest details.
Letterpress blind deboss
Following the same process as letterpress printing but with no ink. The beauty of a blind deboss is subtle and elegant, creating added depth and texture to your design.
